Please try to keep ChatterBank clear of political discussion and news. There are better categories for these topics.

ChatterBank is a place for natter and fun. ChatterBank is not to be a place for gloom and doom threads regarding current affairs.

tricky one - sometimes one person's fun is another person's gloom (exhibit A: Freedom Day)
Good manners cost nothing, neither does respect !
That's a tricky path you've started on there, Bobbi. :-)
i'm guessing the 'chatterbank courtesy' thread will eventually be removed . . .
Some of us just can't win. If I post something political or contentious in "News" people jump down my throat for not providing a link. If I post the same thing in Chatterbank Spare Ed is now telling me to avoid anything political or recent news (aren't many topics these days one or the other?). Is Spare Ed suggesting that Chatterbank should only be boring and repetitive trivia such as that displayed by the GMEB thread?
What you having for dinner, diddly?
diddly, post links :)
Diddly , the GM thread has been running quite successfully for many a year now, there’s never a contentious issue it it which makes it quite ‘ special ‘ it being in CB, certainly isn’t boring and let’s face it, it’s all over by about 08- 00 am anyway and you’d never get either Emmie or Waterboatman being discourteous to anyone
As bobbi says it gives some of us someone to talk to early in the mornings. I have been on the GMEB thread a few times in the past but don't usually come on here this early but this week due to having covid I have been up by 4am because of the cough so it's nice to have something to do and a little chat. Rest of family are still in bed until later.
Diddly, if you have a Political thread and you post it in the correct category and there are absolutely no links on the internet then you'll have to stand your ground.
10.43,.......... "Practise what you preach.".......
I used to have a little chat and bit of banter (fun, friendly) with WBM.. and those other folk :-/ on the GMEB thread... always nice to have a natter that early.
I very often don’t make it Arky but I’d miss it if it wasn’t there , I never make Mamya’ s either, I’m an early to bed and a late riser , both threads mentioned are an intricate part of AB
oh I thought Chatterbank courtesy
would be a pretty short thread.
because there isnt any ! ( haw haw haw )
I always think that if you don't like a thread then just don't join it. There are many such types of thread that I never even look into.
Yes they are Bobbi, I used to be still on nightshift or finishing on GMEB thread or setting off. Mamya's thread is awesome some songs I'd never have heard of and some I wish I hadn't ;-)
That’s true TSM, I veer away from religion etc , I don’t know enough about it, I don’t do quizzes and crosswords online , only at home, I enjoy the News section and sometimes CB and music, pointless going into something you know little about anyway
Opinions are good to have but are a tricky area. I have not seen anything too contentious but i am not on here all the time.
/// both threads mentioned are an intricate part of AB ///

Not to mention intrinsic :-D
Don't believe you were the first to spot that, Canary...some of us had the courtesy to ignore it.
