The England football team visited an orphanage in Russia when they arrived today.

"It's just awful seeing their little faces with no hope" said Vladimir, aged 6.

We're going to win the cup.

(Well this the jokes section)
Lol!
If only they had a goal in life....
You always have to look on the bright side:

1. Scotland are not going to lose any matches in Russia and of the teams going to the world cup, this is something only the winner can say.
2. There will be no mention of useless Scottish goalkeepers in the press, for the next five weeks.
3. There will be no mention of useless Scottish strikers in the press for the next five weeks
4. In fact there will be no mention of any useless Scots anything in the press for the next five weeks, because Scotland are not going.
5. There will be no drunken singing of the Scottish National anthem at any maches - as Scotland are not going
3. Scots will be able to spend the money saved by not going, on Tunisian, Panamanian and Belgian shirts, things that they really would have preferred to spend their money on anyway, rather than support their team in Russia. And after the finals have finished, they will have some brightly coloured floor rags to show for it. If they had gone to the finals they would only have memories of the occasion.
You have to pity England, the Scots always seem to do better out of it somehow!
And then the Scottish team.......forgot, sorry, dougal.

We are proud, as a nation, to have been among the first to boycott the tournament sending a strong message to Vladimir and his coterie.

Now concentrating on teaching England about cricket. :-)

I'm old enough to remember the year when Scotland went and England didn't.
i'm old enough to remember when England went and won it ...

I wonder what Jamal (who will be 24 years old now) is now doing with his life?

:-D
Was that Ally's Tartan Army - when Scotland really believed they were going to win the World Cup?

Good you're getting into the spirit, jj.
Great song that year.
Actually, Jamal will be 14, not 24
In '66 I interviewed Alan Ball for the school mag and at the end we asked him who he thought would win the World Cup. We will, he said. Oh, how we laughed......
Oh I'm sorry Douglas I didn't see that! *slinks off shamefacedly * :/
You're wicked you are ;-)
She has no shame, trust me.
