I bet I'm not alone here, I was one of the "lucky" generation who haven't witnessed war but the way things are going in my countryy I fear for my grandchildren from the enemy within, What has happened in Luton is making people want to join BNP, but if they dare to voice their opinion.....what then, I wish this bloody Goverment would get some backbone....enough is enough!!!

There has been a wide view of opinions here for which I am pleased, I agree it was a small gathering and also have to agree they have a right to a "peaceful" protest, I did not see them as being that way, they were hurling abuse and inciting racism or doesn't it work the other way round? if white/Christians for want of a better label, were to replicate this and I sincerley hope they don't, then that would be seen a racism, did anyone see the organiser of this demo on gmtv yesterday, his arrogance was unbelievable! he berated the British and when asked, why he was here? his answer was "typical British response, I have to spread the word of Islam wherever I am and I was born here" talk about a double edged sword! I asked any Muslim person to tell me if it says anything about this kind of hatred in the Koran? SKnews quoted me a verse out of the Koran which he may do again but basically....No it does not, it requires its followers to be peacful, still spreading their beliefs just as the Christian spreads theirs, but spewing hatred???? where does it say that?
Part of the problem is that some Muslims have an attitude that is hundreds of years old.

In the past the christian religion has caused us in Europe to go to war, or kill people because they were not of the same religion.

In the past wars between catholic countires (like Spain or France) went on between non-catholic countries (like England).

After Henry the 8th died and we had Mary (catholic) and then Elizabeth (non-catholic) on the throne thousands of people were killed, or burnt at the stake, for being the "wrong" religion.

The difference is that that was hundreds of years ago, and we have now outgrown it.

But some Muslims have not, and their religious attitude is more from the middle ages than the present day.

I still say it was a HUGE mistake to allow so many Muslims (and other Asians to be honest) in this country.

We are basically a white, christian (sort of) country, and the mass invasion of Asians of other religions is upsetting the delicate balance that we have had for hundreds of years.

In the long term it can ONLY end in tears.

But were they (the Muslim protesters) actually hurling racist?

They were calling the soldiers baby murderers and butchers - but they weren't actually being racist, or were they? I'll be honest, I switched the telly over at that point, because I find Muslim extremists as scummy as the BNP.

I've often thought it would be great to lock members of the BNP in a room with a load of extremist Muslims to let them kick the lights out of each other...

...but then as a mate of mine pointed out - they'd probably get on like a house on fire.

I am sure that 99.9% of Muslims in this country and quietly embarrassed about this shower.
It's gonna get worse as we slowly become Britainistan!

I'm sure you are right, both of the last point were indeed very valid, I have never considered myself a racist person but I do now question why certain things are happening where at one time I took an interest and that was all, could it be I was so shocked by the attrocities in America and London in the last few years, or perhaps I, like a lot of the American prople, were perhaps a little too complacent in thinking "Oh, nothing will happen her" I guess we live in extremeley dangerous times.
This action by the Muslim protesters has caused much anger to be vented.

Apart from the fact that they have angered many people, some good has actually come from it.

It has encouraged people who would otherwise have not voiced their opinions, (unless they were pigeon-holed racists) to speak up and display their true feelings.

Perhaps the time is not far away, when we may see a similar group of Whites, standing in protest outside a mosque with boards speaking out against the Muslims. But I don't think it would be long before the protest was broken up and a few arrests made.

This would indeed test the fact that we would not be allowed to get away with half of what they get away with. All people want is for all of us to be treated equal.
They have a right to protest - but they verged on incitement to racial hatred - something you and I would be arrested for. This government and the police have no backbone.
I love the way this was a Muslim protest but some Abers like sp18 keep getting there digs in about the BNP.
No Yoghurt to knit today
Jesus said, "Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself." does that not include Muslims then?

"We are basically a white, christian (sort of) country, and the mass invasion of Asians of other religions is upsetting the delicate balance that we have had for hundreds of years."

It's okay when we invade the likes of America and Australia though is it?
Really?

What do you think of these Christians then?

By the way while you're worrying about your grandchildren you might like to spare a thought for over 100,000 civillians who've been killed during the west's occupation of Iraq.

Which did nothing to protect this country - Iraq under Saddam was very secular

I am quite astonished that so many people here seem surprised that we are so hated in the muslim world.

Invading countries, killing its people tends to do that.

At least 2 wedding parties have been bombed in Afghanistan

These people have relatives over there - you think they should go and hug a soldier?
Above all, we might stop sucking up to extremists and start standing up for British values, British traditions and the British way of life. We have so many things to be proud of in this country. Why don't we celebrate them?

No this was not written by a Right Wing patriot, a Little Englander, or even a Daily Mail reader etc, etc. This was in fact written by a Shiraz Maher who is a former Islamic extremist.

They seem to like us enough to want to come here
Have noticed a clique on here , have you ?
troutater

Have you any idea why Muslim fundamentalism has risen so sharply in the past ten years.

Can you think of anything that we might've done to...ahem...cheese them off?

Anything at all?

BNP members are the scum of the world (there...another unnecessary dig).
Question Author
I can assure Jake I have give plenty of thought to the poor Iraqi and Afghan people and to some point I agree we should be out of both countries, these protesters therfore should take their argument to our Goverment, not hurl abuse at the people who have been doing an instructed job there, as a Grandmother who is concerned, I have enough passion in me to feel for Iraqi and Afghan Grandmothers too

Perhaps it is our total acceptance of homosexuality, that cheeses them off?

Well you did ask.
Anything else AOG?

I mean - what about this illegal war in Iraq?

Do you think that might have anything to do with it?

You know when the police investigate a crime, one of the first things they look for is motive.

What's the motive here?
AOG

Do you similarly attack the Bible/Christians for it's/their attitudes to gays, or is that okay?
Leviticus 20:13

And a man who lieth with a male as one lieth with a woman; abomination both of them have done; they are certainly put to death; their blood [is] on them.

So the Bible quite explicitly advocates the murder of gays.

Why does that overlooked when the dailymailers criticise Islam.

(By the way, there's tonnes of references like that all over the Bible...it's not just the occasional scripture).

Correction, it was nothing anybody did to cheese them off. It is our very existence. Anything, anything that is not Islamic has to be hounded and destroyed. Don't bring the Iraq war into this, it is a basic permanent hatred. I think poor sp might be an early casualty, maybe strung up by a crane.
This has been happening for 100's of years and it is not just religiuous groups that do it either

All wars birng out protestors no matter what race, religion or colour of your skin
