I bet I'm not alone here, I was one of the "lucky" generation who haven't witnessed war but the way things are going in my countryy I fear for my grandchildren from the enemy within, What has happened in Luton is making people want to join BNP, but if they dare to voice their opinion.....what then, I wish this bloody Goverment would get some backbone....enough is enough!!!

Hi hope you are well, regarding the Gays after WW2, I didn't know about any of this, seems almost hard to believe.

I would be very interested to read about that, if you can supply the appropriate link.

I'll try and find an online one for you AOG. I only know because my ex wife was Jewish and was at one point involved in directing a play called 'Bent' which is about a German guy who was interred in a concentration camp for being gay. Although at the end of it he actually commits suicide, during her research into the matter she found several references to what happend to homosexuals after liberation in several reputable books. If I can't find a online link I'll call her and ask her for the text versions. I was truly shocked at the time, and still am:(
Mani H.

Where was the school that was accidentally bombed?

There was many bombed during WW2 both in England and Germany.

Should the Airmen then have refused to bomb cities?

Luton this week, perhaps you should now get your mates ready for the march pass in November, assemble at the Cenotaph, Whitehall, London?

AOG... that link makes reference to it, but it's nothing like the detail I read in the books. I'll give her a call later and pass on the names of the publications:)

I can't believe what a fuss is being made over this.

About 10 Muslims shouted slogans at a brass band. And look at the state of us. What happened to the stiff upper lip?

We expect the same men who have braved horrendous stints in Iraq and Afghanistan to get in a flap when some nasty men shout mean things at them. And when they don't, we do it on their behalf.

We point fingers at the Muslim community and slate them for not speaking out against the protestors, even though the Muslim Council did exactly on the very day it happened.

A few bearded cranks wave some placards and we start sh*tting our pants at the forthcoming apocalypse and weeping over our doomed grandchildren. Or signing up for far right political parties who have more in common with the people we're protesting against than any other party.

Can everyone calm down a bit?
Mani

Well if my boss asked me to carry out actions that I felt were highly immoral I would refuse or quit my job,

If you had been around in the first world war, you wouldn't have been given the option of refusing or quitting.

You would have been tied to a stake and shot, for cowardice.
the british should be ashamed of their soldiers - fact is most would probably be in prison if they were not sent off to these poor countries and allowed to kill legally.

next time i see an old man selling poppies i will spit in his tin.
Sorry Mani Hussein.. I disagree with your latest post..

and I quote

"The Taliban sought to impose an extreme interpretation of Islambased in part upon rural Pashtun traditionupon the entire country and committed human rights violations, particularly directed against women and girls, in the process. Women were restricted from working outside the home or pursuing an education, were not to leave their homes without an accompanying male relative, and required to wear a traditional burqa"
ghetto - that comment is out of order... unless of course you know 90% of the UK army personally I think your statement is wildly inaccurate.
We should respect our soldiers (and our police, teachers parents etc etc). And you are of the breed that holds no respect for someone making a sacrifice for you.
We should respect our soldiers and the fact they face terrible circumstances to do their job... a job I think you would never qualify for since you dont seem much of a man yourself!
Better to bleat your words - how easy it is to criticise them from your comfy armchair!
Lets hope we dont ever find ourselves fighting WW3 eh! I know you would be head of the queue running for the hills!

aog would blow it up if there were muslim or black children in there but not if they were germans. this is a man who has admitted to being thrown out of the raf after being caught with pictures of Hitler all over the inside of his locker.
nosha, give me your number and i will show you how much of a man i am baby.
C'mon, Mani, you're losing the plot, son - calm down. I'm not racist, no matter what you think. Just to give you an example, I was appalled not long ago by a woman's attitude as she told me that planning permission had been granted for a mosque to be built in our local town.

She said it as if something horrendous was about to befall all of us and that this mosque should never be built.

I berated her for her narrowminded, racist views. Nor was she the only one to have expressed such sentiments. I have no objections whatever to people building a place of worship.

I've actually been in a mosque, as I have also been in a Hindu place of worship. I am neither Muslim nor Hindu, but I would never try to deny anyone their right to believe in whatever they wish.

I am still, however, entitled to my views, as are all people in free and democratic societies, and long may it last!!!!!!

I see ghetto is being very abusive, when he arms himself with his tomatoes to pelt at British trrops dare they walk through his "British" town or when his mouth is full of spit he wishes to deposit on a poppy seller in November, I hope those around hime ridicule him for the idiot he appears to be, this is a healthy debate and there is no room for the like of this moron, I have debated since it began with all and for the most they are all articulate intelligent people in here....well I suppose you will always get one....and ghetto is that one

What was the woman in the burkha doing with a camera? Aren't photographs (amongst countless other things) banned by the religion she loves so much?

yes they are sgt rock, but she can do what she wants in this country without being beaten by the Taliban, dragged to a stadium with a throng braying for her execution and perhaps getting a bullet in the head, I would imagine those women were there with sole permission of their husbands, I have read many booke on life in both Afghanistan and Iraq and women there under the Taliban had a non-existent life, they were wwothless, it is noticeable that it is the men who come on and call the troops scum, unless ofcause the veiled women of the day are here too, in a disguise, I would like to exchange views with them and see what they think
came over for a gander, joy - you don't need hard hat as you are doing what you say you are!! ( nudge nudge wink wink - say no more!! )
