Conferences before elections are usually bouyant and thrusting. The incumbant party setting its stall out and rallying the troops and trying to impress the electorate.

This was anything but. It was unimspired and they came across as lacklustre and chaotic. Not impressed at all.

We'll see if the Labour conference is any better.

Gulliver, which bit of 'The Conservatives didn't expect to win that seat' don't you understand? The battle there was between the SNP and Labour. The Conservatives were always going to be an also ran in that constituency.
