If the gentleman feels his 'conscience' compels him to break the law, then hopefully, due process will see him incarcerated for increasing amounts of time.

Because having a 'conscience' does not permit the breaking of laws in order to self-aggrandise your sad insecure life.
I know it is not very mimsy - and mimsy is the standard on AB nowadays,
but I think I would find out if I cd sue him for civil damages

It sounds like he got the longest sentence because he was the only one that told the truth under oath, ie yes, I'd probably do it again.
