I have seen quite a few such claims over the last year but they have certainly increased recently.

Because they want to believe all manner of BS. Radio Rental.
Perhaps they need to book a holiday there and see for themselves.
They're potty... that's what makes them do it.
At best they are sad deluded idiots without any proper reasoning ability. At worse they are like that charlatan Alex Jones who uses the useful idiots to make millions selling all manor of media.
I imagine the USSR and other govts also use this sort of stuff. It's hard to believe that Russia would not take advantage of such an easy way of attacking their enemies.
They would soon find out if it's a hoax or not if a stray missile landed in their back yard
Back yards matter.
You will always get this if something is surrounded in secrecy - as wars have to be. Add to that propaganda trolls starting it in the first place and the worlds nutters are off.

Take no notice, if you ignore them and dont give them the publicity then their rants are pointless.

Yes I suppose the sheer weirdness of it merits the news item but in general I’d agree about the publicity thing.

Meanwhile in the war that isn’t a war, a Ukrainian drone crashes in Moscow oblast. A Rosneft oil refinery in Tuapse, near Sochi, was hit by something powerful but no one knows what. Maybe friendly fire. A Russian A50 radar plane was sabotaged on a Belarus airfield,
And the airspace around St Petersburg was closed for some time after an unidentified object was detected near Pulkovo airport. Probably a bloke flying a kite, but it shows how jumpy they are.
In fairness we might do the same

There are alot of idiots in the world and there always have been.

The Internet has made it possible to contact these idiots and fill their heads with nonsense faster then ever before.
