Very little damage I'd assume, certainly way less than partygate. I'm not a Tory but this is pretty much a non-story, or if it is a story it's not about her personally.
What's she supposed to do, not take up a tax status available to her just to pay more tax - who'd publicly thank her for that.. you?

Isn't this something similar to what you do gulliver. In the past you say you live in Spain where the rate of tax is slightly higher than here in the UK. Then you have gone on to say that you pay taxes in the UK on properties you claim to have here and rent out or am I wrong if so I stand to be corrected.

Sorry Nailit I generally are with you but that is nonsense. Having lived in various places I can assure you poverty is just as bad if not worse in the south. Have you seen the property rentals here and no we dont get higher wages in most Southern Towns except London and the Home Counties.

Correct me if I'm getting this wrong. With my little knowledge of how business works in the UK, and may be the simple way I tend to look at this whole situation.
Am I right in thinking that if you have a business here in the UK, you then pay tax on your profits. I'm pretty sure on this :)
Now here it seems to get a bit sticky, or confusing.
If you, lets say have a business in Spain, you pay Spanish Tax,YES?
So am I right in thinking that what is being demanded is that you then pay even more British tax on your Spanish earnings that you have already paid in Spain?
If I have all the above correct won't that result in businesses just moving all their interests to Spain? Resulting in less investment in the UK.
