I'd rather have a Chancellor who knows how to efficiently look after money than one who doesn't!

19.02 He will look after your money for you ,
no doubt about that.
Tax avoidance is legal Gulliver.

I’m avoiding tax by having an ISA.

People are losing their minds over this because of the amount of money and conveniently forgetting the legality.

If she’s evaded tax, she deserves to be prosecuted, If she’s avoided tax (as all of us should - I’m better at spending my money than any Government will ever be), then she’s done nothing wrong and bloody good luck to her.

If I had that sort of wealth I’d do the same and so would you. Show me somebody who would willingly pay more tax than their legally required to pay, and I’ll show you a liar.

People are ONLY annoyed because she’s rich.
The ''magic money tree'' is in the tax evasion forest.
//If I had that sort of wealth I’d do the same and so would you. Show me somebody who would willingly pay more tax than their legally required to pay, and I’ll show you a liar//

If I had that sort of wealth Id like to share it personally!
Well said, DD. We have to file our income-tax returns by April 30th, so I take all my paper-work to an accountant whose job it is to ensure that I pay as little in taxes as legally possible to the Federal and Provincial Governments.
I have a friend whose political views are so far to the left that he'd make Gulliver look like Maggie Thatcher by comparison. However, despite his firm socialist principles, he still pays a financial adviser thousands of pounds a year to manage his offshore investments for him, in order that he can maximise his income while keeping his tax bill to a minimum.

As others have said, there aren't many people who'll voluntarily pay more tax than they're required to by law!
Nailit, as it has often been pointed out, there is a big difference between tax evasion and tax avoidance.
"Will this Tax avoidence scheme of theirs" - what is "their" scheme?
Sinai case alone will not cause the Conservatives any lasting damage.
He is just the new na name on the list of clueless Government Ministers.
Sunak
Ive literally been down to my own POUND and given 50p or whatever to a street person.
For Funks Sake what is wrong with people?
I despair...
Buenchico, I'm on a slightly lower level than your friend...I pay only around $250 to my tax accountant every April:)

19,20 The Tories have shaken that magic money tree down to its Roots looking after the Con Cronies.

I'm happy to be corrected, but to my knowledge Mrs Sunak has done absolutely nothing wrong.

I'm sure there are many, many politicians on all sides who have done far worse than Mrs Sunak.
I give up....
I see everyday the despair, anguish, and desperation that
tory voters in the south dont.
//I'm sure there are many, many politicians on all sides who have done far worse than Mrs Sunak. //
And not one held accountable either....
Nail it, what has she done wrong?
she is allowed to do this
Werent the Beeb hacks on rather odd contracts - which classed themselves as self employed when they werent

anyway the story is marred by the woeful ignorance of the journos and hacks. worse even that some on AB ....
mozz: "I'm happy to be corrected, but to my knowledge Mrs Sunak has done absolutely nothing wrong. " - just another TROB feeding frenzy. The sad thing is there is no "food"!
