I can't recall ever really feeling 'Christmassy' for the past quarter of a century or so. However I take your point that things do seem to be even flatter than usual this year.
It is not you Eve, I feel the same way. The shops are less packed. Many homes around here including mine have less decorations/trees up.
My one son here in the UK is in two minds about coming for xmas day.
I had my booster yesterday and I definitely feel more like crawling under a rock...and I've got things to do. Daughter and her partner arriving tomorrow then off to London late Sunday.
I should have gone to your PO, Barsel. When I went to mine, there were about 10 people queueing outside - and when I got to the door, another 10 inside. It took me well over an hour.
My daughter usually sorts the tree out at my house. This year she hasn't even mentioned it. She usually calls each Sunday and if she doesn't sort it then, it can stay in it's box until next year. That's how festive i feel this year:-/
Hadn't been feeling too festive until last night. Our annual family outing to the Panto cheered me up no end. Great to hear all the kids shouting "he's behind you" and "hiya Buttons". Much more in the mood now.
