I sincerely hope no one would get offended over something as innocent as a generic Christmas card! Surely folk would be more offended if they posted a letter over Christmas and it didn't arrive at a the particular destination due to the holiday season and they were unaware of this?

I'm assuming by the way that every Royal Mail card had their chrstimas posting dates on the same as mine did?

yeah but i'm sure that some non-christian would get oofended by a gesture of good will if it was christian related.
No the majority of people won't find it offensive (just like I don't get offended when the Chinese takeway give me a card at Chinese New Year) - however there are some exceptions which will be picked up by the right wing press and exaggerated as usual.

A Christmas card at Christmas??? Good grief! What were they thinking?
Anyone who finds our traditions offensive should leave.
I'm a 'militant atheist'. I've participated in 'anti-Christian' demonstrations outside churches, I've manhandled a bishop out of my classroom (because I refused to admit anyone who was wearing a cross), I display 'There is No God' stickers on my car and I do everything possible to show how much I mock, revile and despise both Christianity and Christians.

So you might think that I'd be offended by unsolicited Christmas cards. Far from it. I regard Christmas as a pleasant tradition (and nothing more), in the same way that many Catholics happily celebrate Bonfire Night (which was originally an anti-Catholic ritual).

Chris
(Yes, I know that my name has its origins in Christianity but, again, I regard it as too far removed from that faith to be bothered to change it!)

But you may only participate in Christmas because it has become so materialistic and is becoming less religious.

I know a catholic family who hold a bonfire party most years.
