Sir Alan Duncan Politician Con. Writing in his new book. Describes Johnson as a
Self centered egoist,an embarrasing buffoon with an untidy mind, and sub zero diplomatic judgement, and needs publicity like a drug addict needs cocaine. WOW.
Does anyone on A/B agree with him.

Anyone could have told you that – I’m waiting for Boris to admit that the only reason he backed Brexit was to give him a better chance of becoming PM. He is the sort of person who is willing to flush the country down the toilet for personal gain – not the sort of person you’d want running any country.

SKS is no opposition leader, he seems weak and ineffectual. I am not Boris's no 1 fan either, i said before he wasn't PM material, but he is all we have for now.

You did ask.

Hymie,@ 22.24, & 23.07, for best answers. Both very good posts , and also very very true . Excellent.
Boris will go down in history as the PM who did what he said he would do: he got Brexit done.
Alternatively, he may go down in history as the PM who dithered and dallied, fumbled and flustered his way through a pandemic, cherry-picking scientific advice, while his countrymen died in their thousands.
Always two sides to a coin, Jackdaw.
Ken; //he may go down in history as the PM who dithered and dallied, fumbled and flustered his way through a pandemic, cherry-picking scientific advice,....//

While his counterparts in France, Germany & the rest of the EU were doing a magnificent job (not),
Yes. Only interested in money. Wonder if he will wed Carrie or go on to the next one? How could anyone fancy him in the first place?
power is a wonderful aphrodesiac.

Ken & 10 39, He will probably go down in history as the Pm
who spent a record ammount of Tax Payers money on donating to the "Con Crony Club". ( memo to Jackdaw)
re the original post, pot/kettle comes to mind, apologies if it's already been suggested

Looks like another thread about to be derailed by TTT.
TTT will soon link it all back up again if this thread go's tits up. I think Sir Duncan missed out sex maniac.
Khandro, i'm not interested in the PM's "counterparts in France, Germany & the rest". I live in England and am concerned only what our government does. And, vaccines apart, our government has been found wanting at every step of the of the way. IMHO, of course.
I imagine Boris would be mildly amused by the description. He's made a good job of a very difficult situation imho.
Alan Duncan is not the first person to describe Johnson in this way... Max Hastings (former employer) and numerous conservative backbenchers have described him as lazy dishonest and workshy

https://bylinetimes.com/2020/07/01/lazy-slapdash-badly-organised-the-backbench-grumblings-on-boris-johnsons-future-have-begun/

He is a selfish cynical man who is not suited for the premiership.

The nasty homophobic attacks on Alan Duncan in this thread reveal the bigoted posters for the poisonous, ignorant old men that they are. Anybody who cares whether or not Alan Duncan is 'effeminate' or gay is an idiot.
I can understand why many people did not feel they could vote Labour in the last election and why many might have voted Tory with a heavy heart... but what I cannot understand is why Tory members themselves chose Johnson as their leader when the vast majority of candidates were better qualified and not so obviously dodgy... I strongly dislike Jeremy Hunt for example but there seems no doubt that he is a more capable and hardworking than Johnson...

... and then there was Rory Stewart, a deeply principled intelligent and experienced person who I really believe would have done far better for this country. Unfortunately all the tories who would have voted for him were purged or left.
