Hoping that it doesn’t rise too much in the coming days but inevitably it will, I fear.

Sadly the toll keeps rising, I feel for all those suffering.
as someone pointed out there were over 8,000 deaths from flu last year, perhaps that put into perspective.
sad though that people are dying from this virus.
that figure was given by the BBC for UK....
Worrying that a patient in Essex had no relevant travel
What are ABers doing to protect themselves?
staying in...
Washing my hands more often but apart from that nothing, if I catch it then it happens.
This is reminiscent of the Black Death, don't you think? Nobody is sure of where it comes from, how it gets here, what we should do to avoid catching it, but we should keep away from other people. And hope for the best.
Nothing at the moment. But I would worry more if I lived in a large town or city because I am old and have medical problems. If it gets worse I will resort to shopping for necessities on line (which I
hate). I have only three nearish neighbours. I got flu this year after having the flu jab!

One thing I won't do is panic and go out and buy face masks.
I would be washing my hands more after going out. I do anyway.
My wife and I had planned on going to a nearby sculpture gallery, with a pub lunch included, but we have cancelled that. We are due to go for a pub lunch with friends - which was planned some time ago - in the next few days, but we are reluctant to cancel that, as we feel that our friends will probably see us as being paranoid, so the pub lunch is still on. Otherwise, we are carrying on as normal: keep ourselves to ourselves, and hope for the best.
Everyone I know, at the moment, is just carrying on as normal, including travelling, booking holidays, etc... I'm not sure what else you can do.
Boris has issued instructions to wash your hands for at least twenty second, or sing happy birthday whilst washing your hands.PMSL.
I was told by my lovely daughter today to stop being paranoid lol! However she is young fit and healthy and if she did get the virus would probably survive. I'm old, with underlying health issues and very low immune system, so will remain paranoid for the foreseeable future, decline invitations to crowded places and get OH (who loves shopping) to do all my grocery shopping.
Well, at least we haven't got to the stage of painting red crosses on our doors.
Give it a rest please, gulliver. The 'happy birthday' advice for washing your hands has been around for years, well before Boris got involved
16.17, Think Boris has already had his Happy Birthday with Carrie Symonds F/F. ..... !!! .
I am carrying on as normal. Have only just got back from travelling and been through Dubai and Gatwick. Those wearing masks were few and far between, hardly anyone on the flights were. (as they don't do anything anyway no worries there). I washed hands at every opportunity and used lots of gel and wipes on the journey. Now back in Dorset will carry on as normal with extra hand washing. I find the constant threads about it on every forum more concerning than the virus itself -the fear seems to have taken the world by storm more than the illness itself.

Not wishing to be the harbinger of doom but the Chinese doctor who tried to forewarn people undoubtedly thought the same before he succumbed to it. He was 34.

I’d still take all reasonable precautions.
16.28 Can you give us all a reason why we shouldn't fear this virus, when its spreading round the world in no time at all?
