Not really a question- just an observation.
I've always had a feeling, totally unfounded I know, that Russia could be behind this or at least spreading fear and misinformation across the rest of the world. It certainly seems to have a very low incidence itself, although whether we can trust their data is another issue

Hmmm, not sure they do have a low incidence rate. On the telly the other day, Russians were saying their government was lying about how many cases there really was. Wouldn’t surprise me at all.
they have it too, just telling porkies.
FF if this was a deliberate act by anyone it'd be a lot worse, what's the point in a bio weapon that doesn't kill most? I also think that even the most psychotic outfit know that bio weapons have cannot be used without effecting themselves.
no! stop it FF - have you seen Airline - stop it! slap! slap slap!
breathe - you are not a normal Aber
breathe again - you do not say foo!
breathe in - - you do not regard a three word sentence as so long you are in danger of falling asleep before you get to the end
breathe - sospirez encore you might even have a few words of French

and - there is no conspiracy - Russia is a managed economy and so you expect them to lie ( and lie and lie and then shoot you)

last bit correct - you cannot trust their data

Flavver of the week was S Korea who were doing this and doing that
and suddenly they found 10 000 extra cases, oo-er so the koreans were doing a bit of the other as well
We’re nearly out of oil it’s a worldwide govt plot to wean us off. The fact it’s going to kill 10% of the world pop is just a bonus (to them).
ah so !
but plan not work !
wuhan no smoke and so lots and lots of people not dead from smoke inhalation - like 50 000
Right then, we're only half a step from blaming Elon Musk for the whole thing.
My guess is things will turn out nowhere near as bad as predicted.
As for the OP, nothing to do with Russia.
For any country to deliberately do something like this: what would be the point?
Conspiracy theory mania
Wouldn't surprise me if Russia tries to exploit this -- hence, for example, the almost certain cover-up of true figures in their country -- but they sure as hell didn't cause it.
fiendish chinese virus not good weapon if more chinee die than anyone else.

so it cant be a weapon - ah so but there was a mistake and virus escape ! no the original mistake is thinking it could be a weapon

ah tho - but ....
what that guy who drowned all those thai children ?
or something
There are a lot of reports that this virus was developed by the Chinese in a secret biological warfare factory not far from Wuhan City. This story that it came from a wet-fish factory is a load of boloney.
Which is also almost certainly rubbish.
The most likely source is a live animal market
Biological wargame doesn’t pussyfoot about.
The nerve agent casual dumped in a Hampshire waste bin by agents of the GRU could have killed more people than have so far died of Covid-19 in Italy and China combined.
I'd have thought the utter failure of any authority to get a proper handle on this should more or less kill any conspiracy theory stone-dead. Humans simply aren't competent enough to organise one.

There's also no evidence for the artificial origin whatsoever, and plenty of evidence for a natural one, but who cares about facts, huh.
There seems to be two main theories, from the start ... that it was deliberately/accidentally released from a lab.
That it came from bats, via another animal maybe, and passed on through poor hygiene in markets.
Either way, it makes little difference now.
jim360,you will have to stop these sensible Posts, you are confusing some on here.!!
I’m not sure hygiene comes into it: it’s just the unregulated sale for consumption of certain animals
i wonder if the chinese will stop eating exotic creatures...let alone husbandry welfare.
Question Author
Yes, I agree it's extremely unlikely Russia or China deliberately infected the world. It's possible something got out of hand but not very likely. However there are some who say pro Russian sources are spreading fear and misinformation about this.

In a way I hope they are right and we find things aren't going to be as bad as we fear
