Chuka stands for the Labour leadership - and then a week later stands down because he wasn't happy with the ensuing media attention. Then he's the prime mover in the founding of the Independent Group (Change UK) and today joins the Lib Dems !

He's on a loser. A potentially sparkling political career flushed down the pan.
Farage.
Mercurial? Like Freddie, dead and buried.
not doing well
I thought you meant the Sadge
How long until he goes for Libdem leadership?

Who?
He's a dead duck. He had a Labour majority of 26000+. There is no way he will be elected next time round.
But those 26,000 and the others voted for HIM and not the Labour Party.

The transient Chuka may well have moved on to pastures new by then!
Chuka is a Streatham chap. I will predict he will stand for Cable's own Twickenham seat at the next GE although some say Richmond Park is a possibility.

The question is, has he demonstrated 'huge courage' as claimed by the LibDems or completely lost all credibility?

By his self-admission, he's not a careerist which is just as well as he now treads down the path to virtual obscurity...
Quite true cassa, but they voted for him when he looked to be in a position to achieve for them. That's much less likely now he's shown his true colours and acted upon them.
Mercurial or desperate?
Chukka Kant in the Lib nondems? he's found his natural home at last!
Tora, I was reminded of this thread...

Tora: // I'm backing Chukka [to be Labour leader] //
Gromit: // You're only picking him because he is the most useless //

I was spot on there.
sounds like Churchill party-hopping in the good old days.
Oh dear, invoking the great man's name will have ravening hordes pursuing you even unto the end of time, jno.
yes bang on gromit! TBF though I think since then Jezza has exceeded him for uselessness.
Tora,
// Jezza has exceeded him for uselessness. //

Two years ago in an election called to increase May’s majority, Corbyn turned out to be not useless enough. You predicted a 50 seat majority for May, and the Corbyn led Labour Party gained a load of seats, reducing the majority to a minority.
(Of course the conclusion of all that is that May is far more useless than Chukka and Corbyn combined).
The chances are he'll disappear into oblivion.
'Mercurial' is a polite word for what he is!
