For the first time in my life I've used LOL.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6896091/Hospital-apologises-transgender-woman-dressed-Mrs-Claus-mistaken-man.html

Come on....even the most achingly right-on amongst us on AB, and there's loads, must find this LOL. I more than LOL'd, I bloody roared with laughter. He was wearing an Ann Summers Mrs Clause outfit fer christ's sake.

What the hell is somebody who is clearly a bloke doing pouting like that?

Am I wrong to find this hilarious?

Jim, we know people have to train but you’ve avoided answering my question directly – and no surprise there.
then stop giving me so much material. you're making yourself look like a idiot.

That's not even the debate here, it's how the nurse acted.
spath, quit the personal attacks.
you're personally attacking the woman's reality in the article, so no. I'll do as i please.

You're also attacking the mentality of all trans people, calling them liars.

So no. I'll do as i please.
It's hard to answer a direct question that starts out, as far as I'm concerned, from a false premise. The issue of transwomen competing in sport is clearly tricky, and better dealt with on a case-by-case basis.
pathetically immature OP mocking fun over the appearance of someone trying to transition. How absolutely pathetic.
Genuinely vile attitude.
and has feck all to do with this OP jim
//Men aren't women.//

I'd hazard a guess that women aren't men either.

Not everyone is born equal.
Jim, but how can it be dealt with on a case by case basis? If someone declares themselves 'female' we are apparently obliged to accept that they are female when very clearly they are not and no one is willing to tell them that. I suspect that you know as well as I do that it stands to reason that a man doing that has an unfair advantage in sport.
if you think people transition so they have an upper hand in sport i think you need ur wires replaced
spath, speaking of wires, you have yours well and truly crossed. No one, apart from Jim, has said that or even hinted at it.
this thread is about respecting the pronouns people wish to be referred to as, not how and if trans people affect sports and if that is OK.
It's about respect.
I don't see much respect on this thread !! to each other..this will go soon unless the personal slanging stops..just saying !! ;0)
spath- I wouldn't bother trying to debate. The blinkers will never come off - just accept that and move on. I agree that the transgenders in sport topic is best dealt with by a separate thread but someposters like to switch the agenda - best to ignore the diversions and blind alleys
spath, If you're not happy with the discussion moving on, no need for you to comment on its progress - even though you have - frequently.
you're right Minty. The amount of people deliberately referring to this woman as "he" and mocking her looks. Calling her a liar, saying they will not lie to appease her feelings. How disgusting. Very little respect indeed.

FF i agree. I'll give it a go.
fiction-factory, do you object to the discussion having moved on? So far it seems it's only you and spath. No one else has complained. I actually think, barring the personal insults, it's a rather good discussion.
discussion moved on or hijacking for more opportunities to score points and put in thinly veiled insults?
It's not just a question of he or she, him or her. They have made up dozens of these preferred pronouns they demand you use (or get the sack in some cases) Xie or Xer, anyone?
