She isn't unpopular. There are a few bit5tcy comments here and there, but it seems to be thing with women who marry into royalty.

Even Princess Di had the same thing.
SP, //On the day the engagement was announced, he simple said, “He’s punching”. //

What does 'he's punching' mean?
" I do feel t.b.h. that she'll let Harry down and is playing the part of a Princess. I will not pre-judge, however"

THAT comment made me laugh a lot

Spath, Oh, right, thanks. I wouldn't agree with that.
I don't dislike Ms Markle but I think she is wrong for the prince and will bring him nothing but unhappiness but it's up to H who he marries.
Geez,, I wish I was born a Royal
Then I could have had everyone scrutinising every choice I made.
What fun life would have been.

Alas, that will never happen unless some little known royal wishes to wed a derelict immigrant Pom that has spent his whole life in the land down under.

Well, there would be a few skills and cultural norms I could bring to the Royal Family.

Who know's, it may make them actually interesting.
Waaaaay back, I can recall the old biddies gossiping about a woman who was about to marry for a 2nd time.
They would glance at each other knowingly, and mutter "Second hand goods". Of course back then I didn't have a clue what they meant.
The yougov poll suggesting that Brits are more concerned with the attitudes of immigrants rather than the colour of their skin must be a real downer for some.

I really don't give 2 hoots who he marries..but I don't think it bodes well long term somehow....
Talbot at 09:30, I agree.
The bottom line is: would she be with Harry if he wasn’t a Prince. I bet the answer is no
Why the reference to her as 'black' ?

Why is she anymore black than white ?

Very odd

I suppose she’s biracial. I don’t know how she refers to herself. My guess is that most people unless told wouldn’t even clock that she’s biracial...a bit like Ryan Giggs. She’s so light-skinned as to be ‘almost white’.
She seems pleasant enough. I have nothing against her, and I don't feel I have the right to judge if she is 'right' for Harry.

Good luck to 'em.

I wouldn't be royal for anything. A life sentence.

Whether or not the marriage succeeds will probably depend to a large degree on how she is treated by the family , in my opinion .

Unlike Diana I have no reason to believe that they don't love each other .

In Diana's case if there was any love there it was one way
That marriage in my opinion was just a vehicle to produce another heir to
the throne
