So a little boy, just three years old, is sitting on a blanket and holding an ice cream. The family dog is looking at the ice cream.

Does the R S P C A really have to criticise this innocent photograph?

Are you sure this is not just tongue in cheek?
Bazile....It's Prince George.
what, do you mean the Royal Society for the Protection of Charles and Anne?
Are you sure, ummmm?

DSJ has been a member for longer than Prince George has been on the planet.
Well, my dog gets his ice cream treat every week. He is now 14 years old and it hasn't done him any harm. Storm in a teacup IMO - only because it is wee George!
Good job the animal cruelty campaigners didn't find out what George did with the ice cream when the dog refused to eat it.

I remember several years ago while on holiday in Norfolk. The family and me went for a day trip to Norwich we were caught in slow moving traffic on the ring road.Sitting on the grass verge beside the road was a young lad and his dog.He had an ice cream cornet,it was one lick for him and then one for the dog and so on,It brought a smile to our faces.
I have always fed the odd ice cream to my dogs over the years, they all loved them and all lived to ripe old ages. It's a lovely pic.
There is no evidence that the dog actually ate the ice cream. So, there is no need for anyone to make a fuss. If it did eat the ice cream, who cares?
Bunch of rubbish. Not all dogs are intolerant of dairy, I would say that most are not. There is little or no theobromine in white chocolate, and even less in the kind that is used to cover icecream which is the stuff that used to be sold as “magic shell”
I can see why the RSPCA made the comment that it did...they have to stick to “the line” on these things.
Neither the problems (where they do exist) with milk or with chocolate are allergies...the chocolate issue is a toxicity and the dairy one is a dietary intolerance. I have got a dog with a pork allergy and I know the difference!

but Twitter and the Daily Mail, why am I not surprised?
Terrible ! Everyone knows there's nothing better than a hot dog.
When anyone has an agenda then anything anyone does is fair game. IMHO these people need to get ver themselves and get a life.
I feed icecream to my dogs always have - never a problem, this is more about peoples dislike of the Royal Family - anything to have a pop!
