What big thing have you noticed - mine has been petrol.

Bought £20 last Sunday to pick sister up - I don't drive much at all - next thing within one week petrol light was flashing. Couldn't believe it.

Don't know why you were surprised, JJ, the very high cost of petrol has been in the news for weeks.

and with my poor knees can't even walk it LOL
At least you can afford the extra cost of petrol, JJ. A lot of people are really struggling, thankfully I'm okay and can absorb all these higher prices.

Pity poor drivers who have excessive driving - my God all that petrol money - awful for them.
Yes, I've heard of carers that have to drive from client to client in their own cars that are really struggling - their petrol allowance hasn't increased to accommodate the price changes. They are mainly on minimum wage as it is. Shocking.

Just joking last Sunday - told sister that since cost of living has gone up - she may pay me the price of picking up taxi, drop off taxi, price of lovely dinner and another little thing she owes me.

She says take it out of my money you owe me LOL
:)
Baked beans! Only a few weeks back, i bought a pack of 3 x small tins (Heinz) at Farmfoods for £1.49. Bought some yesterday and price was £2.

Also yoghurt. Tesco home brand Greek style was £1.20 in May. Now £1.50.
I've been paying £1.50 for 6 pints of milk for years, now it is £2. That might explain the rise in the cost of yoghurt, the dairy farmers have put their foot down with a firm hand and demanded a realistic price for their milk.
The steep rise in diesel and electricity will also affect the cost of everything we buy.
I use to pay 20p for air for my tyres at my supermarket petrol station.... last week I noticed it had gone up to £1! When I complain'd to the manager she said 'yeah thats inflation for you'
Boom boom!
£20 of petrol JJ? That's barely enough to get off the forecourt.

I was shocked that Lurpak had gone up to £4. Next time I went to buy it, £5!
my dad said when he got his car in the 60s i would be unusual for petrol to increase by 2d a GALLON in a year ,not 2p + a LITRE every week

Round here traffic is just as bad if not worse. Doesnt seem to have curtailed anyone whatsoever, or at least not in sufficient numbers to notice.

I must admit I haven't really noticed anything in particular, seems pretty much across the board. Beer in pubs has become ludicrous, apart from 'Spoons.
While I was waiting for Eurostar at St Pancras last week, I went intothe shop to buy a packet of m&m's or something similar. They were selling stuff like that for 7 or 8p ounds a small bag!
pounds!
Always was expensive though as I had a Carte Blanche I got access to the business lounge where everything was free. Well paid for by the business ticket I had I suppose but then I didnt pay for that!
Cheaper in Tesco, Atheist. ;o)
I have a niece who has an eighty mile round-trip drive to work and back and drives a pick-up which guzzles fuel. She spends 3 or 4 nights a week sleeping at friends or relatives in the town where she works in order to avoid the cost of driving home.
What big thing have you noticed: petrol and Tesco weekly shop.
When my petrol gauge read half full, I used to be able to top it up for £10. Yesterday I paid £45.52.
Tesco weekly shop (for two of us, only): it used to be about £80, but nowadays it's in the region of £136.00.
