My tax runs out in October 2008, but my MOT is due to run out on Monday. Would I need to MOT is again before it runs out. Or would I need to MOT this when my tax runs out.

Your MOT and tax do not have to coincide. Get your car MOT'd, it is illegal for it to be on the road if it is not, even if it is taxed.

When it comes to get your tax, you will have a valid MOT certificate, it doesn't have to be valid for a year from that date.
You need to MOT it by Monday otherwise you'll be liable to be prosecuted for using a vehicle without a valid MOT Test Certificate.
You need to get your car MOT'd on or before Monday if it is on the public highway.

It will not need another MOT until the MOT expires next July - it will be valid to tax your vehicle in October
