Yes JimF, he did have a wonderful voice.
Oh, I liked him so much. Rip Harry.
I liked him when I was a kid. Must of been quite old when he died.
96 Retro
96 was a good age.
This was always my favourite.

He was 96. A really handsome man.
I remember him in Carmen Jones, though I don't think either he or Dorothy Dandridge were allowed to sing with their own voices.
Did he sing A Hole In My Bucket? It was one of my mam and dads favourites.
My Mum & Dad grew up with his music!!
RIP Harry.

not so much a case of "not allowed", but more that neither were opera singers and couldn't deliver in the right register.
I don't think he sang Hole in my Bucket. But apparently the Baanana Boat Song was the first record to sell over a million copies in 1956

I just went on to YouTube and searched for "Hole in the Bucket Song" and several versions by Harry turned up.
Oh no!! I adored him back in the day. Both for his voice and his looks.
I remember him from way back, There's a Hole on my Bucket, Banana Boat song etc. He was a good age though and had a productive life. Rest in Peace.
@16.35.Yes he did do the most famous version of Theres a Hole In My Bucket along with Odetta Holmes. This would be the version that my mam and dad sang.Usually at Hogmaney.Instead of "dear Lisa",they always sang it as "Deeerlizer".Maybe an Aberdeen thing.
Yes, I just read this on the news. Lovely voice. R.I.P.
Such a shame, he was gifted with a great voice. RIP Harry.
