I didn’t think he was too bad – remember that for the most part he was just reading the script from an auto-cue.
(others might give the impression that they have read and memorised the script before-hand)
Although he is clearly in need of a trip to Spec-savers, given his squinting during the programme.
Hymie, we know they read from the auto-cue but most achieve it with a degree of fluency. Fluent he most certainly was not and his 'side-of-the-mouth' delivery of punchlines was irritating. He was totally out of his depth. In my most humble opinion, of course.
If they are going to equip Mr Dyer with an autocue to read from, perhaps it might be an idea to put it in front of his face, and not on the floor in front of him.
That way he can look as though he is talking to the camera with a degree of naturalness that is required to read from an autocue.
Oh, and a year's training as well before they give him another go!
