The only respectable drink at this time of day is a bloody mary, so I'll have one of those, thanks.
I'm having a cup of tea. Does that count? I might read a poem later.(If I haven't frozen to death)
Poets Day and Drink, now there's a healthy combination

Scrambled eggs and whisky
in the false-dawn light. the AB site
a sweet chatter town, bleak, God knows,
but sweet. Sometimes. And
weren't we fine tonight?
When McMouse set up that limping
treble roll behind me
my horn just growled and I
thought my liver would burst.
And Jogger J. pressing with the
soft stick and Tilly and chichi
singing low. Here we are now
in the White Hart, leaning
on one another, too tired
to go home. But don't say a word,
don't tell a soul, they wouldn't
understand, they couldn't, never
in a million years, how fine,
how magnificent we were
in that old AB club today.
That's lovely DTC ♥
Fosters off early, tomorrow's Saturday
OK, the clean version, Push off early, tomorrow's Saturday

I like that DT.
Why did you choose 'bleak' in the third line? It made me a bit sad.
oh just the contrast one gets on here, tilly, the good, the bad and the downright ugly! :=)
Choose your weapon
For the thrust of metre
Clarifies wit to who
Too wet to woo
Those owls get everywhere

To fight with well phrased Haiku
Or stand siege with a sonnet
Holding firm with the epic not an Epee
Aganst the trollish hordes
well that's the poem and the lawn now cut (before the wet stuff for the weekend); now where's the drink. A cider almost beckons.....
i fancy something refreshing with fruit in it
Cold water with a slice?
fizzy cold water with a slice woudl be just the thing actually :-)
"It's Poets Day" McMouse hissed
A day that should not be missed
I'm still having a think
About my choice of drink
And will blame AB should I get pi**ed
Didn't know Brahms and Liszt were poets. Puzzling.
So many in their time have come and gone
Adrift amidst the maelstrom of the day
That in their final hour have lost and won
Sad victims in a diabolic play
Though all is whimsy, some may yet remain
Their armour strong, their wit honed sharp as night
Occasionally some may yet entertain
And drive the ghouls still soulless to the light
