Just recovering from food poisoning.
Me and wife both completely lost to the world Monday.
Glad it only lasts 36 hours.
Now just feel angry and want revenge on where we eat Saturday night.
Think I will visit them Saturday and shout loudly in front of their customers ...well that's how I feel ....

the couple food poisoned together.... stay together - glad you are feeling better
36 hours...you're lucky. A friend of mine was sick for 2 weeks....and it took another 2 weeks to actually recover.
Trash them on Trip Advisor.
I take it that you've actually contacted them ?
Norovirus?

All ends on ...
better you went mid day and had a quiet word with the manager, today if poss and threaten that you are on your way to the council food inspectors [ cant think of their name] but out of courtesy you decided to let him know they would be coming to inspect his premises, then he has time to offer you your money back/free meal . Did you both eat the same ? and was it just the two of you.State wife still in bed GP had to be called in and said one of the worst cases he had seen for a long time - he is willing to write a report etc.If you wait until Sat apart from calling the police to remove you, I dont think you will get far, but good luck whatever you decide becasue food poisoning isnt funny.
Did you both have the bean sprout stew
you should contact the venue, not shout but try and find out what happened, after all you don't know if others were affected. You could also try and get your money back, provided you have proof it was their cooking that was the cause.
I told you not to try the German cucumbers!

Thank god it has only lasted 36 hours ...today is rehab (is that the correct word) and we are recovering in front of the t.v. , enjoying the pleasures of Cash in the attic and Bargain hunt.
When I'm in a state of mind (Wednesday) , I will phone them and advise them we were sick and I have reported them to the Health Protection Agency and to expect a visit.
It is annoying , when you trust these people and pay good money for a meal and end up sick as a result.
The worse bit was the aching muscles in my legs. It was like I had been coast path walking. Not to mention the other effects. Yukk ...being sick makes me feel sick , it's like a feedback loop.
The wife is also now over it now.
I Know how you feel Andy (or felt should I say) a few weeks back this happenef to me. We visited a 'Posh' restaurant in Southend called 'Tou Lou's' right on the sea-front, we were with friends and the meal was superb, service great, but at 2 o/c in the morning I was sooo ill, then it started again next day, on and off for 2days. I felt like death warmed up.
I put it down to the fish starter (no-one else had, no-one else ill) this was on the Sat eve. The following Friday I went in there to talk to the manager, He accepted full responcability, bowed and scraped & said the next time I was in there my meal would be on him. With this reaction it made me think I wasn't the first or only one to complain.
(I've never been back yet)

Jem
thanks for that tip Jem,will steer clear of that place. those little restaurants along the sea front are pricey too, last time we went we had a starter between us then both had skate and chips and salad and it came to about £22 !Now we stick to a seafood platter each at Leigh on Sea sitting facing the sea opp the pub and then go for a Rossis ice cream at Southend and come home.

Sea food at Leigh ...
I would say yummy ...but not quiet yet ....
Rossi Ice cream ...oh heaven ....Also not quiet yet ....

Maybe by Wednesday I could face both ...still only soup and a bit of toast at the moment
Question Author
@Dee Sa - Know the area well.
We go to the Ice Cream chap under the arch , as you drive towards South End on the sea front.
Now live 2 1/2 drive away :-(
My grand mother used to have a caravan on Canvey Island many years ago.
oh fond memories.
Due a trip to south End soon I think.
