Good evening and welcome to Nungate Towers for tonight's meeting of AB's Mad Over Fifties Club.
Igor is on standby at the entrance to welcome you and take care of your coats, cloaks and broomsticks all of which he will conceal in a variety of crooks and nannies throughout the Towers, whether they are seen again will be purely accidental!
Tonight's Tailcock will be the "Waterloo Sunset" a small tribute to the inimitable Ray Davies of the Kinks.
Our hot plate special tonight will be a Chicken Chasseur - you catch it and you can eat it!! Of course there will be the world famous (here at AB) volley vonts, canopies and horses doovers. On the pudding trolley we have a white chocolate bread and butter pudding (made with croissants for that continental touch [i and white chocolate chips)
Queenie sends her regrets, she is away from home this weekend staying with friends, her father and I are glad of the peace and quiet ....... [i] cricket.... cricket... cricket [i]
The Minstrels are back in the gallery all ready to start with their customary madrigals and toccattas ... [i] one of these days I'm going to loosen the screws on that gallery ..... ] Down in the Ballroom we have engaged the services of a wandering DJ or mobile Disco for those members wishing to dance, boogie whatever (just keep it on the vertical guys ok?)
The indoor pool is ready and waiting for members wishing a swim, the hot tub is still keeping him company as is the mini bar. The library is available for members, we have a great selection of books, magazines and periodicals, I understand we have had the latest edition of "Needlepoint for Wheeltappers" delivered - a right riveting read I'll be bound! I'm delighted to say that Triffid in the conservatory "enjoyed" the company of the person wearing the green hat .... don't know who it was but if they can collect their green hat from Belle in the vestibule otherwise it will be put in the Lost property Cupboard. I have asked nicely, Do Not Feed the
Triffid [i

A warm welcome awaits all who dare enter these portals

[i] Would members please refrain from throwing litter into the moat, it gives the piranhas indigestion, thank you ]

Good evening nungate, Igor and all that may enter the towers.
Igor, a double bucket for me please, I fancy celebrating Villa's terrific win over Chelsea.
For the roffle I have one tub of coffee mate ( empty ) one set of darts ( flights missing ) and one adjustable spanner doesn't adjust anymore.
Question Author
Evening Tony, you've come to the right place to celebrate! An adjustable wrench that doesn't? Sound perfect for my brother as he doesn't either.
Saga of the washer he can't plumb in......... I've a man coming on Tuesday
Oh dear, whats the problem with the washing machine, nungate.
Hi nungate, evening Tony. Missed your first post nungate, sorry.
Definitely drinks time. Waterloo Sunset sounds lovely.
For the rifle I have
Packet of Dolly Mixtures
Pink satin bow
Spray can of oven cleaner (unused)
Book of Basic Cookery
Slim volume entitled In Defence of Doughty Daughters by B. Perennis
Question Author
It was my mum's machine, got a man in said it was goosed, cheaper to buy a new one, so I did, what I neglected to do was arrange for them to plumb it in - he told me it didn't matter and the he could manage it himself - he couldn't! I might have to buy a new one soon though (best beloved none too chuffed, neither am I really)
Question Author
Hi Daisy, any jujubes in the Dolly mixtures? My personal favourites .....
Right then, a new washing machine, nungate. They are fairly easy to plumb in.
My problem is the fridge freezer. Bought a fridge thermometer to try to regulate it, but when the fridge is correct temperature the freezer is not cold enough. (So says the thermometer) Wonder how accurate it is. Only a degree or two discrepancy.
I am ready to pass around the buckets Madame.

Good evening Tony, sir, Madame Daisy, lovely to see you again
Ohhhh, I love Dolly mixtures.
Didn't look nungate. The name was enough to put me off.
Question Author
I just leave the fridge freezer to get on with things Daisy, I tend to run my fridges a tad on the high side, which annoys Queenie no end as things have been known to freeze in the bottom of the fridges, depending on which one it is
Evening Igor. My, your chains are shiny tonight. What do you use to keep them so bright?
Just popping in to give tony a kiss x
hi all xx
Question Author
Which name Daisy? Jujubes? Just picture a jelly tot, only a wee bit more
"pyramid" in shape but not quite a pyramid, maybe a rounded pyramid, one without hard edges ......shut up Nun.....
Why thank you, pixie. a big wet one lol.
Yes. I have many answers to that, tony ;-)
Well Madame Daisy, that all depends on which chains I am wearing. I like brasso for some, or some jeweller's rouge for the silver ceremonial ones, but the real trick is a lot of elbow grease
Question Author
Evening Pixie, you know you simply can't just pop in here and kiss our members, you must at least sit a spell and enjoy a volly vont and a tailcock!
Bucket or glass?

pixie373
Yes. I have many answers to that, tony ;-)

LOL, stop it, you'll get me into trouble ;-)
