A toasting fork? Stick a piece of bread on , go make a tea come back turn the bread over, go get the butter -and there you go.
Looks like an all purpose Last for cobbling shoes and boots ?
Size? Material?
The points could be for the eyelets of the boots, no so much cobbled but the making of?
I wonder if it's for a joint of meat? Something to do with meat, anyway..

About 18” long. Wood and iron.

I don’t think it’s a toasting fork. The prongs would make too large holes in the bread.
I'd go along with the toasting-fork suggestion. Obviously, metal and wood.
Marshmallow Toaster ?
I'd doubt this was for toasting either, the wood would be too near the heat.
Zacs, I wouldn't think that you would impale the bread as far back as the bar.
I don't know what it is but I like the idea of it being a toasting fork. I'm sure some of you remember using metal toasting forks and your hands would get red hot so I like the idea of putting it on something like this.
I think that it's a roasting fork, for meat.
Am I the only one that’s sees boots n shoes here ?? Haha
Try googling 18th century iron toasters and you'll find slightly similar items.
doing jacket potatoes on a fire?
For winding yarns of wool ?

Possibly a crude version of what you are enquiring about.
