“I went into a shop and I said, ‘Can someone sell me a kettle?’ The bloke said ‘Kenwood?’ I said, ‘Where is he?'” ,
//got a replacement today .........a silver toaster//
bet you're browned off
That's bad. Like you said, Russel Hobbs are usually a guaranteed good buy. Still, glad you could laugh. :-))
My last Russell Hobbs kettle broke after just over a year - the lid catch fell apart making it unusable. I emailed RH and go/t no reply - I won't ever buy anything made by Russell Hobbs again.
My wilko kettle is a million years old...so far, so good.

Ok...maybe more like 10 years.
Bhg, you need to avoid Remington, George Foreman, Black and Decker, Iams....
My Russel Hobbs kettle caught fire. There was a bang and a 2 inch flame coming from it. Good job I was in the kitchen when it happened.
Cup of Tea?..

barry - I've had my Black&Decker drill and my George Foreman for at least 25 years . I think you can always find someone who's had problems with a particular company; it's how they put things right that affects my loyalty to them.
Your kettle is clearly toast.
But I'm usure that your tale holds water.

bhg - that was before the companies were bought out by Spectrum Brands. Different times.
Hope it's not the same as the RH kettle I bought from Amazon on Thursday, mally. Red with a clear plastic spout
