We're having fish fingers, frozen chips and peas, all out of the freezer in an attempt to make room for the Christmas stuff.
The turkey is nestled amongst the sausages, bacon and m&s stuffings, and today I made some celeriac mash which will be squeezed in somewhere when it's cold. Also made an iced lemon terrine yesterday which has been fitted in. No room for anything else till we eat something else tomorrow night.
What are you having?
Eccles, did you decide what spicey meal to have tonight?

Being lazy here - peri peri breaded chicken grills (freezer) home made potato wedges and side salad.

That's not lazy Mamya, you made the wedges yourself didn't you? ;)
I will when I can be bothered to get out this chair, yes.
It's called 'one pan salmon with roast asparagus'

It's almost as easy as a ready meal.
piri piri here too, rosemary potatoes, roasted baby turnips, leeks and chicory (the latter for me), steamed baby sprouts and extra-fine green beans.
Mrs. Stringer, my cook, has taken the day off; she'll have left something cold below stairs and delegated the final preparation to the under-house parlour maid. It's also my butler's evening off, and he's gone to the local hostelry to leer at the buxom barmaid on whom he has a crush.
Just can't get the staff these days!

I'm Cheffing tonight, there's a brace of freshly caught Rib-Eyes ready to go, plus Chips, Toms and Mushrooms, work of art will commence about 1830 aided by large(ish) helpings of Red Wine.
Cod fishcakes, crispy potatoes, vegetable medley.

PS, Dessert will be more Red + G & T's
I'm going to have a Chinese followed by some jelly babies (I've run out of cornettos).
Just noticed I'm having 'fairy chicken' - I blame Levi Roots.
I'd love a fish finger sarnie, with a big dollop of homemade tartar sauce.

Tonight I've settled on a Thai Red Curry. Had hoped for some more suggestions but perhaps the spice heads have been busy.

The weekend meals are now on my mind, have no clue for tomorrow, absolutely no idea what to knock up. Sunday I am thinking roast chook, spuds, shallot/leek, steamed French beans and/ broccoli, gravy with some totally lush homemade stock and a splash of sherry. What a shame Mr Cake doesn't eat stuffing, a couple of stuffing balls would make me very happy.

So, back to the drawing board.....what should I cook tomorrow?
Home made macaroni cheese, sizzling in oven...smells fab
Eccles, why not make some stuffing for yourself?

A rack of lamb perhaps? mash and french green beans?

HMade organic creme caramel.
Mamya, did the fairy chicken fall off the Christmas tree ?
Friday evening is chip night for me! Having some oven chips with scampi and peas.
Might have chipper - got tinsel on the brain.
Artisan breads, duck paté, gorgonzola Piccante, Zinfandel.
