I got a new job in home bargains as my job cut my hours but I haven't told my mum yet. I'm starting in home bargains and working in current job part time.

Just tell her

Ass people advised you the other day, just ... tell her. I'm sure she'll be disappointed that your hours were cut (as you seemed to like the job), but pleased that you've applied and got something else.

PS If I was the mum, I might say that 28 hours a week  wasn't really enough for someone of your age, needs, ambitions etc.

I don't really see there is a problem, Abbey.  You lost hours at the Care Home but have, presumably, made them up at Home Bargains. She'll understand.

make it sound positive... you've got 2 jobs you like.

Just tell her.

Well done with new job.  Why are you worried about telling Mum?  . She will probably be proud to know you now have two jobs.  It shows initiative.

Hi mum. I've got a new job.

how many hours will you be working at Home Bargains abbey?

Whats your total hours now per week overall compared to previous your carehome/cleaning hours.??

Are you afraid to tell your Mum, what do you think she will say?

Bobbin... I think Abbey told us earlier in the week that it would be 20 hours in the shop and 8 hours in the cleaning job.

thanks... so thats 2 hrs less than the oiginal care home job.... i was wondering if abbey could tell mum it is now same /more hours.

I dont think abbey has even told her friends  yet that she changed job to the care home in August

Presumably you will get extra hours at Home Bargiains in December as Christmas approaches.

Head down make extra money and jack in the care home.

Abbey, why do you worry about telling your mum? If you just tell the truth, what do you expect her to say?...or react?

Tell your Mum tonight and she may even offer you some advice. I would keep the job at the care home, just in case Home Bargains reduced staff hours.

There were never any secrets between my daughter and myself and that's the way I liked it. I was always pleased to hear her latest news.

Good luck for Monday

I agree - you just tell her

My friends know about care home

When do you start the Home Bargains job, Abbey?

Will you be working part mornings in the Care Home  ...and what time do you start in HB?

Abbey, I think you had some concerns a week or so ago as you hadn't told some of your friends that you'd changed jobs - maybe when the warehouse job didn't work out? It's good to have friends that you can share things with, you don't need to tell every little detail, but maybe big changes...

Say to her the exact words you've written above, excluding the phrase 'but I haven't told my mum yet'.
