So I was walking to tesco with my mum and we saw this guy. He looked exactly like my uncle and he had the same tooth crack and same stance. He came up to us and said I know you two. my mum said You got the wrong people. He said No I know you know me and we just left it. What is that called or anyone ever experienced that?

My uncle died like 3 years ago
Doppelganger I think.
mistaken identity
Doppelganger is a living person.

''He came up to us and said I know you two'' suggests to me he was a living person.

But how is he living if hes dead i did say that as an answer

It's your Uncle who died, not the look alike.
I would have been inclined to ask him some more qns
Not that I a great fan of Wiki, this is what they have to say.

Maybe you look exactly like his nephew?
mistaken identity
A coincidence ?

Or maybe a flaw in the Matrix.
How do you know your uncle definitely died? Did you go to his funeral?

Sometimes family would rather say a relative is dead than than admit they've disowned them.
I find the strangest thing about your post is the fact that you "just left it." I would have interrogated him on the spot.
You are not related to Reginald Perrin I suppose?
I'd call it a complete lack of interest. You say that a stranger who resembled your dead uncle in certain facial features and posture talked to you and stated that he knew you, and you just walked away?
I was at the theatre and saw a woman in one of the side boxes who looked exactly like my mum who died five years ago. It was very strange. I couldn’t stop looking at her.
I have to visit a town regularly and nearly always somebody 'recognises' me. Not the same person. They talk to me as if they know me, people have tried to hug me. I have yet to meet my doppelganger. Maybe my dad had a bike.
Mistaken identity. It is said that everyone has a double somewhere.
