My beloved niece has had a massive heart attack and is on a life support machine. This will be switched off tomorrow as she is brain dead. One of my best friends died this morning. Not totally unexpected but she was far to young and was the life and soul of any party. Ambulance just been to take my next door neighbour to hospital. They say everything comes in threes but I feel so helpless as I'm a bit of a control freak and this has wiped me out.

Oh, Maggie. I'm so sorry to read this. You'll be knocked for six. We don't know what else to say but you and family will be in our thoughts.
Oh Maggie, I am so sorry to hear this.
Remember the good times and good memories, remember her how she was full of life and laughter not how she is now.

Thinking of you xx
maggie sorry for your bad news
all I can say is look after yourself and have another chocolate
You've had a couple of big shocks and it is quite normal to feel completely bowled over. It will take some time to recover - but make sure you give yourself that time.
So difficult to deal with, but things that happen bad as they are are never within our control. Sometimes we just have to get through as best we can. Can't tell if it's your brother's or sisters daughter, what you can control is now you support them because no matter how terrible you feel they will be feeling beyond lost . Sad to lose a precious friend too especially as you may well have leaned on her for support right now. All you can do is get through... Lean on us to vent, to talk through your feelings if you need us.
Maggie, I have just logged on and am so sorry to read your post.
Words seem useless at this time but you seem such a strong person and will work your way through the sadness you must be feeling at this moment. You are in my thoughts. x
Such a horrible time for you. If you need to, go to bed for an hour, it can help body and mind
maggie, I once almost lost a 12 year old son and a 45 year old friend on the same day. I was shattered and was told by my son's docotor in the hospital that my symptoms were 'catastrophe syndrome'. There was no third bad thing, and all that is now in the past. I feel for you. Best wishes.
I'm so sorry for your loss please take care of yourself

Thank you for all your kind thoughts. Just feeling a bit overwhelmed at the moment. Going away to have a bath and put on clean jammies and my dressing gown. Might have a chocolate or two johnny.
Awe, Maggie,I’m so sorry for you. Life is *** sometimes isn’t it ? You will go through the motions for the families left behind, ensure you grieve as you should . So sorry. Anne .
I'm so very sorry. Life can be so cruel sometimes. There is very little more I can say. Just take care. Best wishes.
So sorry to read this Maggie...such overwhelmingly devastating news.
Prayers for your niece and friend...and a hug for you. Take care of yourself x
Devastating for you. I'm so sorry you're having to deal with this. My thoughts are with you.x
Maggie I’ve just popped in and read this, I am so sorry for your heartache , life can really be cruel at times , my thoughts are with you and your family at this saddest of times xx
I'm so sorry, what a nasty shock for you. Be assured that people are thinking of you.
This is an awful run of events. Best wishes to you .
Oh Maggiebee! - I am so very sorry. It's horrible, but life's like that. I learned a long time ago that the light at the end of a tunnel is usually an oncoming train. It doesn't know when you have had enough.
I'm lost for words.
I have to write a card to post tomorrow, to a friend whose Christmas card told me that her husband (health-freaky retired G.P.) has been diagnosed with a brain tumour and has been given 3 months.
It's a shock to understand that you aren't in control - I know that one of old.
This is where you have to release control and learn to live with what happens. In my case, I am fortunate in having a faith, which helps me to cope.
Oh Maggie I've only just read this you have my heart warm condolences for you and family Xx
so sorry to read this, the only good news I can offer is that things don't come in threes, they come in twos or twenty twos or whatever.
