My Dog.

I love my dog dearly, but I would never dream of buying him xmas presents, birthday presents, nor would I ever send a card with his name on it to anyone. he's a dog :)

Two of my elderly neighbours send me cards with their pet's names on them and i don't reciprocate, i get a minor ticking off the next time they see me:-)

My two dogs have a stocking each and they will have a toy and a chew each to unwrap on Christmas morning. The eldest actually gets really excited when he sees his stocking getting hung up and he unwraps his own presents. To be honest he probably enjoys ripping the paper more than getting a new toy. My rats get a seed bell or similar which is wrapped in Christmas paper and string which they love to rip up and use as festive bedding. I also bake the rats birthday cakes (well, they only ever have two if they are lucky). It's just a cup cake with mealworms and a bit of dried fruit with primula cheese icing, they love it.

Mr Tilly is going into town today to 'get the dogs something'. He'll come back with loads of daft things and forget the things I asked him to get, like a bag of sprouts.

Feeling suitably guilty here, I forgot to get Frank anything, oh well, never mind. :-(
I know he's a dog, notice I didn't say only a dog, but when you haven't got anyone else to buy for, well it's just provides a bit of amusement watching him open the present.

Good for you anne, but I DO buy my dog presents at Christmas and I DO put his name on cards. He is part of my family and loves to join in all the fun (as have all my pets before him). He's happy, I'm happy and there's nowt wrong with that !

I love the idea of folk buying pressies and including their pets on their cards. I would draw the line though, at dressing 'em up in Santa outfits and such-like. That's a no-no from me.

My GSD used to get christmas presents when I spent christmas with my parents & siblings. He did unwrap his presents before anyone else unwrapped theirs. Made a wonderful mess with bits of paper everywhere.
