I am constantly tiered. I do not have the energy to do anything. I sleep all the time , im moody because i am exhausted. I have been to the doctors so many times but the results come back ok. I have tried so many different medicines to boost my energy levels but they never work. Can anyone help?

read a repory recently that de-hydration can cause the body to do all sorts of funny things.


we dont have to be in the middle of a hot summer to suffer from de-hydration, just not drinking enough of the stuff.


so, try drinking a couple of glasses of water each day. not pop or other water based drinks, just good old fashioned water..

Could it be a bit of weight loss might help, I felt very lethargic last year, and decided to lose a bit of weight so I started walking and have a lot more energy,plus as funky says drink water I drink a glass first thing in the morning,before breakfast and another big glass before evening meal helps to cleanse you and I am not as hungry.
Even if you dont need to lose weight, you may need to improve your diet and do some exercise. This should give you a boost.

Lack of iron possibly.

I'm not a doctor, but if they've accurately discovered nothing it probably means there's nothing wrong physically.


But physical exhaustion can't be detected by doctors and that is one possibility, I've had it a few times and each time once the causes of it stopped and I'd had a lot of sleep the energy came back. Stress of any sort can and will cause these symptoms, and if you've been working too hard as many people do that is the final result, like burn out. Think of anything that may have caused stress and you may have some clues.

You be intolerant to a food type which is making you listless. Read Carol Vorerman's detox diet book, and see if you can detox for a few weeks. Initially you feel like hell, but as the weeks go by you feel literally like you are being rebuilt from the inside out.
I had ME for many years and got no where with gps . Scarlett could well be right about food or additive intollerences.
I suggest going to see a good homeopath. I didn't belive in their crap..but went as it was via NHS, free and dispite my unbeleif , it worked.
There are 4 NHS homeopathic hospitals in the UK or you could go private. Mine is in bristol.
I worked for me when nothing else did and it is not psycho symatic

Do you exercise?? I come home from work knackered, but every second night (usually) I go for a 3 mile run. Its hard at the time but after the run you will feel wide awake due to the adrenalin rush. It will also build up your stamina and make you more mentally awake. In the long run you will feel much better. Like I said its hard, but the best time to do it is when you are a bit tired as you will be amazed how alert you feel after and you will get a better nights sleep when you go to bed. Make sure you eat and drink right as well.

If your doctor has found nothing physically wrong with you, perhaps it's time to consider other possibilities.


Are you getting enough fresh air? Stale air and lack of oxygen can make you feel tired and drowsy. And drink plenty of water do you don't become dehydrated.


Are you eating too much stodgy food, fat and carbodrydates? Try cutting down on these and eating more vegetables and fresh fruit instead.

Are your tired or bored ?. Boredom can feel very similar to tiredness in that it makes you feel listless and disinterested in what's going on around you)? Could you do with finding a new hobby or some new activities such as reading, gardening, learning a new language at evening class, etc., joining a gym, dance class?


Do you exercise enough. It's easy to feel too tired to exercise (walk, run, swim, yoga, etc) but afterwards you really will feel better and more energised (and probably sleep better as well)..

Do you sleep in a room that is too hot and airless? Reduce the overnight temperature and open some windows now the weather is getting warmer. This may give you better quality sleep so that you do not need so much of it.
