History tells us that this was the caveman, yet the bible says that it was Adam. Does this mean that Adam was a caveman? Or is one of them wrong? If so, which?

Hi Champagne.

You asked your religious instructious teacher the  question and was not satisfied with the answer, and now you are asking us the same question. Have you changed in that youre ready for an answer, or do you just spend your time going around asking people the same question ?

Anyway at some time or another you are going to accept one of the many answers given and I am not sure if it matters. I think your RE teachers opinion was earliest and best. Follow your conscience.

Richard and Judy religion? Now that I can believe in.
Were Adam and Eve married because isn't sex before marriage against the Christian faith? Or didn't it count back then?

Well I'm overwhelmed by the responses to date. You're all geniuses (geniusi?) and I'm in awe of you all. Especially Peter Pedant who is the sanest person out of the lot of you!

So, I am now happy in the knowledge that Adam & Eve were not cavemen or monkeys, but actually aliens from another planet who came to earth because they liked chicken.

Genius I tell you!

the bible explains many things - see here for instance.

Genesis 1 is not meant to be understood as a literal chronological account.  In ancient literature, it was common to sequence historical material by topic, rather than in strict chronological order.  God created the first man (Hebrew adam) and woman (named Hawwah ["Eve"], similar to Hebrew hayyah, "life").

Genesis speaks of the creation of Adam from the dust of the ground, not his evolution from other animals.  It speaks of direct immediate creation at God's command, not long natural processes.  Adam was an intelligent being who could speak a language, study and name animals, and engage in life-sustaining activity. He was not an ignorant half-ape.  When God created Adam and Eve, they were fully developed human beings, capable of communication, society, and development.

Jesus referred to the life of Adam and Eve as the first literal "male and female," making their physical union the basis of marriage.

I hope most of all of your statements were sarcasm or tongue in cheek!

If not, you're all mad! You're brainwashed idiots.

It's just a cult that got too big.

You are trying to make rational excuses for the nonsense in the bible - "cave paintings were a test" and "dinosaurs were chickens"!!! Come off it!

Please tell me you were all joking!

sorry didnt mean to say  ALL of you...
