I have acquired a snail in my tropical fish tank that I never put in! Any ideas how it could have got there please? I don't mind it being in there as it's cleaning the glass for me.

Hi, have you put in any new plants lately? If yes It's most probably arrived on one of them. What fish do you keep? Some will find the snail a tasty little snack, if not you can get over-run with the littles beasts! If you do get lots it can be a sign of over feeding.
We like snails in this house....I feed them to my Puffers :O}

Hi Lisa Only have artificial plants.I have Mollies, Neons & Swordfish. I certainly don't mind the snail. The other fish don't seem to worry about it either. It's a real mystery how it got in there.

How bizarre if you only have fake plants....lol.
Little tip....if you do get over-run, drop a lettuce leaf into the tank and leave it over night, by the morning all the snails should be on it and them you can just lift them out! I've never tried this myself, as like I said we love snails....or rather my Pufferfish do!!!!
