Can anyone tell me a good way of getting rid of ants in the kitchen - there is a crawling baby around and a toddler so this limits what can be used. Many thanks

I've found these ant bait stations are effective, obviously out of reach of juniors 1 & 2!
Try and trace where they are coming from. When I had them I put natural scented oils in a spray bottle and sprayed where they walked.
Made the room smell nice as well.
If you can find where they are coming in you might find a little hole in a door frame or something. Fill it with polyfiller.
Happy hunting.
I heard someone say on the radio last week that if you put vinegar across their trails/entry points it will stop them. I've no idea if it works, but at least its child friendly!
asda do a spray called ant & insect repellent its the same kind of tin as the fly spray used it in my mums kitchen last week & it worked brilliant been no ants in her kitchen since. hope this helps
I always use Nippon. A few small drops in places a baby cannot touch should attract a crowd of ants who will take the poison back to the nest where it is fed to the young.

Many thanks for all your suggestions - will certainly try them out.
If all else fails try to trace them back to the nest and pour boiling water down it.
