Real Problem with Ants

Every year without fail, we get ants in our kitchen and until this year the bathroom too. A few months ago we installed a new kitchan and bathroom. When we took out the old kitchen units, I couldn't believe the damage that the ants had done - it was just like one of those termite hills - they had taken off all the plaster and it was in a huge pile like dust. They haven't managed to find their way into the new bathroom yet. (that's in inside room by the way!). ALready we are having the usual problem in the kitchen. I can see the familiar piles of earth etc where they push it up to the surface. We put down all manner of ant bait and STILL they come back. In a couple of months I'll have a massive swarm of flying ants in my hallway and all over the door - but at least they go away the same day. What can I do about the kitchen ants? I don't want the new plaster destroyed! Thanks in advance. PS I hope this is the best place to post this.

Dethlac Spray and you can buy it at Wilkinsons. Spray outside the house wall and inside the house walls. Its brilliant lasts for months as its water proof.
i think in your case I would get some professionals in to deal with it. I`ve had ants in my lawn ever since I have lived here (10 years) and they never go away. They just burrow deeper into the lawn to survive the winter months and pop up again the next year. if they`re impacting on the inside of your property I would ask the experts. See if the council pest control can reccommend someone rather than getting someone from the yellow pages that you don`t know
If you get flying ants inside the nest must be in the house somewhere, try and spot where the flying ants are coming from.
You may try spreading a bit of turmeric powder around where they come out from. And then see them disappearing.
the big termite hill is the nest..
