I'm going camping in some really thick, dense woods with about 20 mates this weekend and was wondering what food I could take.
I don't eat bread or tinned food, although I may have to resort to tinned soup. Last time, we had to BBQ all the meat on the first day or it may have gone off in the heat and live off crisp sandwhiches for the next 4 days.
An ice box is pointless in the middle of the woods with no way to top up the ice, there isn't a stream to keeps bottles or cans cool... there's no way out, is there?!
Bear in mind there WON'T be any pots or pans... just sticks and foil over the fire... although there was a tiny pan that was passed round a load of people to cook and eat their soup out of... and friends or not, I'm not mass-multi-sharing a single pan!!!!! (As no doubt, I will be the only other person to take one and everyone will want to use it)
what about something like this, ther are various sites online for this kind of thing, and i think you may be able to buy them in health food shops, hope you have a good weekend x
I was just going to see if I could find something that would keep meat frozen for days... but this is excellent!!!!!
Thanks, Mcfluff, I can't wait to see their cold starving faces when I'm indulging in a hot casserole, HAHAHAHAHAHAA!!!!! (Sorry, I DID say they were my best mates.....)
ok in sainsburys they have pouchs of food, but they do need to be heated about 2.99 each, and various meals is in the 'special stuff aisle' you know where they do the jamie oliver sauces and that kind of stuff, maybe you can heat it up in some boiling water? or try a camping shop ? http://www.snowandrock.com/shop/activity/campi ng/food/ready_meals/products/REI0001.htm - this is online store but they have uk sites as well
Hello BBWCHAT, thanks for the tip I was deciding on a meaty BBQ on the first night and ved the rest of the time... especially if I get bored, at least I'll be eating healthy stuff instead of snacking, although I will take a tube of Pringles...
