Is there anbody out there who is as fed up as I am of being accussed of racism simply because I have the St Geoge flag on my car? The Scots, Welsh & Irish proudly display there national emblems but if an Englishman does so he's "racist" just because a bunch of rabble have hi-jacked our national flag. I'm not racist having met, worked with & become friends with people of many nationalities over the years. Not only that but when we have family get togethers one of my cousins always refers to it as a meeting of the"League of Nations" as we have quite a large selection of ethic origins in the family, what I am is totally p****d off with the PC brigade, virtually making it a crime to be proud to be English

Didn't you know, your not allowed to be English anymore, haven't you noticed, on official papers, your not allwed to put your nationality as English, on the national census, your not allowed to put your nationality as English.

This goverment has broken up the United kingdom, next, they're going to break up England.

To be English in England, is now almost a crime, you can describe yourself as British or European, but not English, however, the Scots cand be Scottish, and the Welsh Welsh.

think you are a bit paranoid paddy, where do you live?
Paddy, try to calm yourself down, because otherwise you will be constantly stressed. Like I said in my other post (where I asked why the marine girl has to use a scarf to cover her head) we are living the era of the political correctness, just that it only works to one side, not to all sides.

For example in Brasil we see many guys using t-shirts written 100% BLACK, and it's considered cool, "a guy who likes his own colour, that's the way to go, bla bla bla".... but if you make yourself a t-shirt saying 100% WHITE you will certainly be called a racist and people will look with disapproval at you. Same here in England with religion, I can't still conform why everything is allowed to muslims, they can look at me like I am dirty (probably because I don't cover my head), the lady with a baby can say "don't touch her" for her child to don't touch my goddaughter.... but if WE say we don't like muslims or we have anything against their behaviour, we are the racists. You don't have the right to "not liking" anything anymore. I can't say I find, I don't know, "chinese" ugly, because I will be tagged as racist. I can't tell a joke about a jehova witness because I am a racist. Whatever.

So, I guess it's better for you to start getting used to this, as I can see it's getting each day worse...
I thought the English flag had been claimed back from the far right. There was a time when it did look suspicious to see one in a window and the assumption was that the person probably had racist tendancies. But the England football helped to reclaim it for the common people - Last year nearly every window and car was bedecked in our flag.

I am suprised that you are getting an adverse reaction now. It's not the white hood and gown on tha back seat that's doing it, is it?
just you wait until you will have to hold the E.U. flag in some sort of reverence ,it is a plain blue flag with a ring of yellow stars it is a poxy rag.I will continue to have fondness for the Union Flag and the George Cross.
And one more thing ,why do the football morons have to deface the George Cross by having team sponsors like JJB/Soccershop scrawled across it or even the name of our country England, That my friends is not part of our flag.
Have I missed something?

Who says it is racist?

Reina. Don't give in. Fly the flag.
B's dad: they have to write England on it because the thick bast*rds don't know what it is without the words.
I will continue to fly the Cross of St. George on the 23rd April
& the cross Saltire on the 30th November to declaim my heritage. I also fly the Red Ensign on the 3rd September.
ReinaLuna and paddywak for Prime Ministers I say...
Im sick and tired of been called a racist because I'm ENGLISH.
I have a friend that is black, an ex-girlfriend that is Scotish, friends that are gay, chinese neioghbors that are friends, work collegues that are asian, and because I take a stance against immigration I am called a homophobic, racist Englandor...
The mind boggles!
i agree with you all i always say i am an english woman, i love the last bit of your answer Gromit lol
I wouldn't say you were racist unless you displayed a whole load of views, opinions and behaviours to go with it. Sad, yes, but not racist.
Oh ReinaLuna I do soooo agree with you - and it makes my blood boil! I feel that in some way I have to apologise for being English!

Lonnie, since England is not a nation, it follows you can not have English nationality. You can call yirsel English but yir nationality is British.
THanks guys, I'm glad I feel some support in here, I thought by this post people would come on me to want me dead hehehe.... and for the ones who suggested me as a prime minister, ok, next time I try to candidate myself I want your votes!!! ;o)

THECORBYLOON, last time I looked, Britain was made up of Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland, under one rule soon to be no more, they are known as the United Kingdom, there is no such nationality as British, as there is no such country as Britain, regardless of what this goverment wants.

I take it that the language your using is English?.
