Newly Opened Bottle Of Capsules...

I got a new bottle of a new brand of a supplement I take. When I opened it, there was a fine powdery coating on the inside. The bottle was sealed inside the cap.

This was from Amazon, so I posted a query as to whether other buyers had experienced this. 2 answers and both were 'no'. I then emailed the manufacturer but did not receive a reply.

I'm wary of taking them, though I guess capsules might leak. Thoughts?

Return them and get a refund.  You should be wary of anything you ingest

i would say  .....if in doubt throw it out x

What supplement is it, do you derive any tangible benefit from it, is it recommended by medics as being effective?

Anyway - just take it. The powdery deposits won't harm you.

Perhaps the fine powder is a deliberate addition to prevent the capsules from sticking together? Any details on the label?

And, no, don't throw them away - you've paid for them. Get a refund if not happy.

Have a look at all of the capsules as the powder might be one of them that had broken open, if it is is then the rest are alright. Otherwise, chuck them out and get a new bottle.

capsules leaked: it is not cocaine ( or  fe n tanyl)

I've just applied for a returnless refund. Easier than I expected.

If I then get a response from the manufacturer I might get a reassurance that they are OK. Otherwise I'll dispose them.

my first guess would be that the powdery stuff is what's inside the capsules. Maybe one or two burst, or just leaked. (It wouldn't be common, so I wouldn't expect a lot of Yes answers.) Take them all out and you may be able to spot the source.

1...I received a refund from Amazon

2...I emailed the manufacturer. They replied today, requesting a photo.

3...I did empty the capsules out of the bottle...all felt powdery. But I couldn't immediately see that any looked different...or less full..

Maybe they will send me another one 😃

They are probably bottled by machine and a ruptured capsule fouled up the production line which may be why the manufacturer relented (having perhaps examined the line).
