Hopefully he is dead but until they find the body it will still be an open case.

yeah I hope they find his body for closure

Yes it is. They need to make sure he is dead.

Searching the Thames for a body equates to seeking a needle in a haystack - a hopeless waste of scarce resources.  I wonder how many other "cases" get that amount of resource in order to "close" them.

I took it to start with that this geezer was an Islamist nut-job,turns out he was a Christian nut-job.Its strange how you can misjudge people in the UK nowadays.

gives the police divers something to do- day and night !

Hi retro !

religious nut job ?

I was under the impression he was a nasty revengeful dumped ex-partner who should have been deported years ago

What an odd thing 'the law' is.

Ynna, he was no Christian - and I've got my doubts about this.

The time will be well spent if they find the body. It would mean they can stop all the other searches for him thus freeing up resources.

Yes it is. They need to make sure he is dead]erm - Mrs McKay is dead but there is no body - ( fed to the pigs)  - gomboola brothers still inside for that.

and just in case you think someone is inside a pig - you   - - - xray them ( the pigs silly) but you have to do it quickly. This was not done.  Came up in our forensic medicine lectures in er 1975. ( Donald Teare)

@11.10.As a devout Christian this geezer couldnt be removed from this country to a Islamist state, johnny.

A few quick dashes up and down the Thames not going to be a waste off time. Police are on the Thames a lot anyhow.

He's no Christian.

I have no idea why the police are so sure he's in the river.

And yes, what a waste of police time.

He was last seen on Chelsea Bridge but wasn't seen leaving it, so they have concluded he is now in the Thames.

presumably the tide was coming in when he was last seen? If it was on its way out he could be anywhere in the North Sea. Even if coming in there's a lot of river to search. When the Marchioness sank, bodies were washed up in Hammersmith, best part of 10 twisty miles upstream. The Thames is very strong.

Yes.  If he is dead there is no need to continue with a man hunt. At present his whereabouts is unknown.

The difficulty arises if they do not find a body (and even if he has jumped in there is no guarantee he will be recovered).

If he were presumed drowned but turnt up later, alive, the police would be criticized for not searching the Thames.

A body is needed to be sure he's dead. Then we can make sure he's buried in a nice Christian ceremony, as I'm sure an in-no-way-Muslim, born again Christian would like.

Certainly was. Unless our jock with a frock can locate other missing John Does who have gone missing.

Two John Does recovered from Thames Police Marine Division. Ok .Not the perpetrator they seek but have still accomplished what they are trained to do.A successful operation and still ongoing.
