Answer: Mother Teresa
Al Capone - a good upstanding honest citizen wasn't he ?? ..... or maybe not !!

Another good one was "a Barcelonian" (or whatever the word was) is from which city ..... answer given = Madrid !!

And another one (I think it was on Tipping Point) .... which line of latitude ..... (I can't remember the question, but it was clearly asking for a line of latitude) .... answer given = Australia !!
I must admit I did roll my eyes on hearing that answer. But to be fair to the contesant, she was under pressure in a studio set up, trying to answer as many questions as possible in a two minute slot.
I would love to go on the Chase, but I think I'd give ridiculous answers when under the spotlight. The funniest I saw, was when that guy on Family Fortunes answered "Turkey" to every question.
I recently bought an amusing book called something like "I Wish I hadn't Said That" which includes a chapter on stupid answers like this.

Elsewhere in the book people like George W Bush feature quite strongly, as do Sports commentators of course.

I'm tempted at times to flood the Jokes Topic with examples :-) but respect for copyright holds me back.
One of the funniest ever on a quiz show was:' Name a bird with a long neck. Answer: Naomi Campbell
Try this!
"Name a dangerous race."
Expecting, of course, Le Mans, Paris-Dakar, Grand National, etc.

And the contestant said: "The Arabs."
Who shot JR?

Contestant Lee Harvey Oswald
ZEBO, this was the question.

Sorry, I got the question the wrong way round!

I have often wondered why Private Eye renamed the Colemanballs column as something else though their Dumb Britain feature is often amusing.
We asked 100 people to ...

Name something that's red.

"My cardigan"

Uh-uhhhhhhhhh
