My father would have been my closest friend still had he lived past 63 and I miss him so much still. A wonderful person.

I have a very small family, if I look at my English side (the Scottish lot are numerous and generally familial, but at a bit of a distance). I would definitely want to be friends with my only sister.
As for the younger generations (all 4 of the next generation) the answer is still 'yes' - with a query and hesitation over my younger daughter. Grandchildren - 2 out of 3 ain't bad.

Original family, parents and two sisters, God no, awful people, parents dead, sisters estranged.

My extended family now - twenty-plus of them - absolutely, wonderful people.

Sad Andy. I was fortunate in having a good family and large extended family when young. Now almost all deceased now. My Russian in-laws were reasonable too, except for one sister in law.

mostly i would, they are likeable and kind, though i don't see them that often due to distance. I would i expect, see them a little bit more if we didn't live so far apart.
