I think it's a shame to force flowers to grow like that. I never buy daffs so early.
Sounds like thieve been stored at too cool a temperature
Ah, I bought some last Friday, from Morrisons, and they all opened and look wonderful. Can't wait for the ones in the garden to flower.
My Aldi ones have been lovely, second lot , something so uplifting and joyful about daffs
Hate to see cut flowers - why not plant bulbs and watch them flower naturally? Cutting them just kills them. Could never understand people giving people bunches of flowers when cutting them just kills them and you watch them die off.
Daffs (being of the lily family) are now, very sadly, a no-no in our house - one of the the things that affect my asthma. We have spikes striking through the soil, however and in one sheltered bank in the village there are aconites, snowdrops, crocus just starting to open and primulas! Spring will come!!!!
Damn! I've already ordered a bouquet for Lankeela on Valentine's Day!
I have daff and many other bulbs in the garden and in principle agree with you Lankeela, but ...... when they're 3 bunches for a £1 on the market I feel the need to rescue them and give them a good home!!
I agree with Lankeela but as the flower-growing industry and florists have never missed my money, each to their own and all that.

However, it does hurt less to be hit over the head by a bouquet than a potted plant :-)
