// I think we all know that it is sometimes necessary to deal with people we don't like. //

The Taliban have the possibility of becoming very wealthy.
TTT, so do you think we should sell them tanks, weapons, rockets and ammunition, if they have got the cash ?
gromit: " I included the UK because I am talking to UK hypocrites. " - who is a hypocrite? I have not posted anything about the Saudi's or the Taliban. I assume you do not count yourself as a "hypocrite" so please tell me how you manage without using any oil products.
I'm so glad that people ae at last equating Saudi Arabia with the rise of the Taliban. Not here, many on here have been aware of it. In the late 1990s I was a lone voice yelling about the change in pupil attitudes and equating it with the recent arrival of young, Saudi imams in the local mosques. I even wrote a long letter to the Mail on Sunday about it (they'd run a report on Bradford) which was published - but they missed that bit out. It was obviously too politically sensitive.

To answer the O.P.. No, I do not believe they have changed and fear that they have spawned an even more narrow and extremist movement. There is a name for it, but I can't remember it, sorry.

They must have changed to some extent because they're behaving differently in what they say. Whether they behave differently in what they actually do remains to be seen.
