Yesterday was the best day ever I've had for getting reduced food items, ( a bumper day) M&S Sainsburys, Asda, Morrisons, all got a visit from me. Far to many items to list, but potatoes 24p per 2k, mince beef 50p, bread 25p, cod 60p, salmon 60p, leeks20p, M&S was the best, but to many to list.
So later today will be doing a few cottage pies to freeze. :0)
We can never get to look at the orange sticker/bargain cabinets as theres usually one or two who block it off with there trolleys and take all the bargains or push in front of me when a start looking in there.
You weren't in Cardiff or Newport yesterday were you teacake, lol.
14.27 No, But I have about 7 big supermarkets within 3/4 miles, so dead easy to visit all of them if I wish, and lucky to have my own transport, 4 of them are within walking distance if bad weather also, so can't really go wrong.
I'm always at the reduced counter but just what we will use or freeze but people are queuing for the food to be reduced at 6PM. Same faces they either have large families or shopping for multiple households.
I've done so well this year in saving money on many many items, and spent even less due to covid on other things, its allowed me to help my 2 kids through thick and thin this year. So yesterday I treated myself to a bottle of vintage brandy, and cracked it open last night, it was delightful!! Well earned I though. :0)
Well now emmie, that's a problem for most people is it not. But you see if you have you're own transport, like me , you can choose the less busy time to go, like first thing Monday morning/ last thing at night/ late at night, many many better options. Hope this helps.
Its all about exposure, shopping for food has got to be done, so food shops only, not material things. I could if I wanted have some items delivered, but that would not be fair to take up a delivery spot for people who really need them, especially as I have my own transport.
