That may be his MP salary, but Mr Johnson has other earnings, the £275,000 he is paid by the Telegraph.
Not sure what Boris was signalling with his tax announcement, and I am not sure who it was aimed at.
There are far more voters on less than £80K so it won’t be an election winner.
And in the more immediate election among Tory members, the majority are elderly and not earning £80K. Why would that get anyones vote ?

that's an odd thing to say when the electorate for this is exclusively members of the conservative party.....
Gromit: "There are far more voters on less than £80K so it won’t be an election winner. " - yes and most of those pay the 40%, they'll be delighted not to. This favours anyone paying the 40% levy. eg if you're on £50k you save a noticeable amount.
I'm glad I am not the only one who cannot stand that woman.

SO relieved she’s not in the running.
I wouldn't swear the ones who are still in the race are any better, except Stewart, whom I rather like.

I'm certain they are all dreadful, but McVey was dangerous, I'm sure of that.
