I would say in the past 3 years I never see bees, wasps, ladybirds or butterflies etc.

Loads of dirty little flies tho.

Anybody tell me why there is a shortage. Would it be our weather?

Increased use of insecticides has probably got something to do with it.
I have seen plenty of bees, wasps and ladybirds but only a few butterflies. Hardly any flies last year!

Didn’t see many wasps last year but quite a lot of butterflies and our hives are buzzing!
Our lavender attracts loads of bees and the buddleia attracts some butterflies, but not as many as a few years ago.
There are loads of bees in my garden at the moment but my garden is full of pollinator friendly plants.

Yesterday, I saw an orange tip butterfly. That was lovely.

I do have flies in the house today, as all the upstairs windows have been wide open all day.
i've seen plenty of spaths about..bloody annoying things! ;-)

You can get a Spray for that nowadays Volty.
lol if only balders ;-)
My place used to be rural with lots of wildlife but alas. Airport expansion & motorways brought commuters to urbanise here. Most agri fields have phone masts (Ive been offered £3k pa for same). Few bumble bees & wasps but no b'flies, l'birds & few flies but Ive got lots of mini moths indoors. Do you think radio waves disturb insects?
bees, horseflies, wasps here (not those African bast--ds). No hedgies though, they are like Mars Bars to the badgers.

And lots of bats and pheasants.
deodorant and a cigarette lighter works well, volty.
no shortage here
Biggest bee I've ever seen buzzing around my kitchen the other day, took me a while to persuade it to fly back out of the window.
That'll be a bumble, Campbellking. :-)
They are huge.
I chased an enormous bumble bee out of the house yesterday, in Summer we get a lot of bees and wasps. Certain plants attract butterflies too.
I’m the reverse seen a fair few bees wasps ladybugs and flutterbys but hardly any flies
