We're going to the pub today for a 3-course dinner. I really wish we weren't :(

I think burying them under your new patio is your best bet, and hoping that nobody reports them missing.
When I was a boy in the 60's, we had a "Clean plates" policy at home....no excuse was tolerated for not eating sprouts.

However, we had a Boxer dog at the time, who lived under the kitchen table, especially at meal time ( ! ) and she always had an unfortunate wind problem at Xmas....I wonder why !
