Multiple Texts To My Iphone

Whenever anyone sends a text, to my iphone, why do I get another, identical one a couple of minutes later ?

This doesn't always happen, but its ruddy annoying when it does.

Actually TTT, I was a very early convert to iphones. I can't possibly justify buying an Apple computer, as I can't see that the huge extra cost is justified. I was looking at a huge imac the other day in PC World. It was undoubtedly a smashing bit of kit. It had the best 27 inch screen, I have ever seen, but it was nearly £2000 !

My iphone 4s just gets on with its job, without fuss or bother. I might upgrade to the new iphone 6 in the future, but only when it comes down in price.

have you googled the duplicate text problem? I find with these sorts of issue there is always someone in the world who's had it and knows the answer.

Are they green texts or blue iMessages? If blue try this...

From the Home screen, open “Settings“.
Select “Messages“
Slide “iMessages” to off for about 3 minutes, then turn it back on.

I tried the setting page, and I found iMessage OFF, so I turned it on....was that OK ? ( I haven't heard of iMessage before ! )

iMessage is for wifi, have you switched it on?

Yes but they are only between other iPhone, iPad or mac users...and free of charge.

I sometimes get a 2 minute warning if I haven't opened a text, but never a duplicate.
